Senior Interior Designer - Freelance | London (Croydon studio) | 4-day week

The role

This is a freelance position based out of our Croydon studio, with an expectation of three days a week in-studio and the rest working flexibly. We operate a 4-day week and move quickly - you'll need to be someone who can think on their feet, adapt, and keep pace, while bringing patience and understanding as we continue to build out our processes as a young studio.

What you'll be doing

  • Owning projects end-to-end, from first concept through to final snag list, with the confidence to make decisions along the way

  • Developing concepts from a blank page - genuinely creative, and equally comfortable with the detail that makes the big idea real

  • Leading and attending client meetings, presenting design ideas clearly and confidently

  • Applying a thorough working knowledge of RIBA Plan of Work stages and relevant building regulations throughout the design and delivery process

  • Coordinating with architects, contractors, and suppliers to keep projects moving

  • Being proactive - spotting issues and chasing what's needed before it becomes a problem, not after

  • Producing and reviewing FF&E schedules, specifications, and procurement documentation

  • Working closely with the studio team, contributing ideas and feedback openly

What we're looking for

  • Qualification in Interior Architecture or Interior Design

  • Proven experience delivering interior design projects at a senior level

  • Strong concept design skills and a genuinely creative eye - an all-rounder

  • Confident, articulate, and comfortable client-facing

  • Solid understanding of RIBA stages and UK building regulations

  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple work-streams

  • Honest - willing to speak up, even when it's inconvenient

  • A team player who doesn't take themselves too seriously and is up for a laugh

  • Comfortable working in a young, fast-paced studio, with patience for evolving processes
